I Have a Question ...
This link is dedicated to discussing questions that arise from Christians seeking to know more of God's Word and Will. It is facilitated by the pastor of Tri-County Christian Church (Middletown).
About Me

- Name: Dr James D Harless
- Location: Anderson, Indiana, United States
I have been happily married to my college sweetheart, Vicki, since August 5, 1972. We have two children and six grandchildren. I am blessed to do the two things I love most ... preaching and teaching. I am the preaching minister at Tri-County Christian Church and I teach for Indiana Wesleyan University. I am not sure life could get any better on this side of Heaven's gate.

The 10 Commandments are not 'outdated' but 'updated.' Matthew 5:17 (NIV) ... “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. The 10 Commandments are complete in Christ. The NT Law ... and all of the Old Testament ... is summarized in the two 'laws' of the NT ... Love God with all of your heart, soul, body and mind ... and love others as yourself.
The 10 Commandments are relational. The first 4 deal with man's relationship to God. The last 6 deal with man's relationship to his fellow man. From this standpoint, they are not outdated. They are very current.
Even in today's environment, laws are passed that provide ways for society to relate. In spite of what government or the ACLU is trying to do, every law enacted is rooted in the 10 Commandments in some way, even laws that outlaw them. They dictate how we are to relate to each other and society.
