We are a one income family, and usually by the time the paycheck has been deposited, the money has already been spent on necessities. Do you think we should still tithe, even if means running up credit card debt?

Here is where your faith is tested! It is amazing how God provides for our needs when we trust Him in our finances! When you put God first by tithing first ... He comes through. Is this easy? No ... but it works. Tithing is the only thing in the Bible in which God actually tells us to test Him. So test Him ... see if He comes through

Whoever said tithing had to be by money? It can be your time, your helps, anyway you can benefit the church. Maybe you don't have a lot of money but I'm sure God has blessed you in many ways so that you can give back to him in service to his people,; the church.

This is a tough problem. Being good stewards is one of Jesus' teachings. To do this, we must prioritize our finances. There is a lot of help to do this.

I'm not convinced that getting into credit card debt is good stewardship of resources. As you get your priorities right, God will bless your efforts and you will find that we have enough for what we need. Can you step out on faith and tithe? Sure, but at the same time, make smart decisions with your money.

I am sure the God would understand if you had to buy groceries one week instead of paying tithe to the church. I am also sure he would not want you to lose your home either...
